Dealing With Issues Step Six - Even Though It's Your
Issue You Don't Have To Deal With It All On Your Own

Another common place people fail when it comes to dealing with issues, is that they don't get help and support when needed. What you may not know is that this desire to do it all on your own is actually another defense mechanism. Your mind knows that if you have to do it on your own you'll almost assuredly fail. This is because it's all in your mind and your mind is what you need to work with to deal with your issues.

It's a lot like going to your favorite store, gathering $2000 worth of merchandise, going to the counter to pay for everything, and then as you pull out the credit card to pay for it - tell the clerk not to sell it to you. Because everything is in your own head you will almost assuredly fail if you don't get outside help. The key is getting the right kind of help for you and the issue you are trying to deal with.

One of the best places to get the right kind of help is joining support groups (where possible). Because the people there have been in the same place you are, they understand better than anyone what's involved with dealing with the issue. Of course the reality is that they only understand to the degree they have done the work for themselves. This means that support groups are a great place to get support, however, the people can only help you to their level.

This is where getting help can become very, very complicated. There are many organizations, groups, books, and seminars on just about every subject imaginable. How then do you know which ones are right for you? There are three main things you need to always remember when it comes to dealing with any of them. 1) No one has all the answers - if someone tells you that they do it shows they don't understand fully and are not likely going to be of much help. 2) No matter where you go for help, only take the things that work for you - after all, everyone is different and different things work for different people. 3) Sometimes all you really need is a shoulder to lean on - something even the family pet can provide.

The last thing we wanted to discuss on this topic is that most people have an issue when it comes to asking for help. Whether it's that they don't feel worthy to be helped, they feel they are supposed to do it all on their own, or simply that they are afraid to admit weakness. The problem with this issue, aside from the obvious, is that it prevents you from getting help; it also reinforces that you can't deal with your issues.

It actually takes worth to ask for help. What people don't realize is that by asking for help you prove yourself capable of dealing with the issue. You'll notice from your own life that smart, capable people ask for help when they need it. Where incapable people fight to do it all on their own - and usually fail. So deal with that issue right away and make sure you seek out and get the help that you need when you need it.

Finally, we also hope that you'll keep coming back to the Free From Issues website to get help and support along the way. We do offer paid services to help you deal with a wide variety of different issues. However, like with this information right here, we also have a lot of free information as well. So be sure to keep coming back, get involved where you feel comfortable, and hopefully we'll be able to help you do a lot more than just deal with your issues.
