How To Keep Your New Years Resolution 2011

First off, we wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and prosperous 2011. To give you a leg up on doing that we though it would be a good idea to help you learn more about keeping your New Years Resolutions. For those in Calgary, Alberta we will be discussing this topic in a bit more detail at the upcoming seminar on Jan 23rd 2011 (be sure to read this too as you need to start succeeding today).

The primary reason people have such a hard time keeping their New Years Resolution is because they try and do so on their own. If you're the only person invested in your success, as soon as you "forget" about the Resolution then it's gone. That means the only chance you have of success is to be 100% dedicated 100% of the time. Sadly, most people just don't have it in them to commit to that level - especially given the busy and complicated lives we end up living.

This means the main thing you can do to increase your odds of success is NOT to do it on your own. If you can surround yourself with other people who have an interest in your success, then they can motivate you to succeed - and you can motivate them. The two main issues people have with doing this are: 1) They are afraid to let other people in and thus can't even tell others about how their doing to meet their Resolution, and 2) They think that other people must be working on the same Resolution if they are going to succeed.

In order to succeed at life in general you need to be able to get help from others when you need it. That means that getting others to help you keep your New Years Resolution is a very good thing - and acts as practice for the rest of your life. What you need to realize is that most people feel the same way you do about not wanting to let others in. The simple act of you asking for help allows them to have permission to ask for help in their own life - and also gives them the opportunity to get help from you with their own Resolutions, etc.

That now only leaves us with the issue of people having different Resolutions. While it can be easier in some ways to work with people who want to accomplish the same Resolution, it isn't needed. As long as each person involved has a vested interest in both of you succeeding (or all of you if you're in a group) then everything will work just fine. This is because you only need to focus on how you're succeeding at reaching your individual goals - not the actual outcome.

As long as everyone is asking each other how they are succeeding at their goals every day, it acts as a motivating factor to help everyone succeed. This is because the act of being involved with others allows us to feel obligated to them to succeed. If we fail, then it means we can't be there to help and support them in reaching their goals. If we succeeds, then we each get to share in the success and use that success to further motivate and each other to succeed too.

Instead of trying to meet your New Years Resolution on your own, find some friends or family to work with. Whether you only want one or two others to help you, or find a group of ten or more, as long as everyone is working to help and support each other, then your chances of success increase immensely. While it is best to be able to talk to people face-to-face, because of technology we can also talk to people via e-mail, chat programs, etc. If you don't have people you can work with locally, or that you don't feel comfortable working with, then by all means include others at a distance. The more people you have helping and supporting you, the greater your chance of success.

So why not start the New Year off right and let people help you to meet your New Years Resolution?
